First Lady Shares Marriage Lessons From 40 Years With President Tinubu

Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has revealed that she and her husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have rarely raised their voices at each other during their nearly 40 years of marriage.
The First Lady made the revelation while hosting an interfaith breaking of fast event at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together Muslim and Christian leaders for a joint Ramadan Iftar and Lent gathering.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Tinubu said religious differences should not divide Nigerians, using her marriage to the Nigerian president as an example of peaceful coexistence.
“Some of us are married to men of different faiths and have lived together for many years,” she said.
“Me, almost 40 years. And I can tell you, I cannot remember when both of us raised our voices at each other. Maybe not more than twice in the 40 years.”
She emphasized that maturity, respect, and the fear of God are important for maintaining harmony in relationships and society.
The gathering brought together wives of state governors, female lawmakers, ministers, and other prominent women to promote religious tolerance and national unity.
Oluremi Tinubu also encouraged women to mentor younger generations, stressing the need to pass on values and wisdom that will help build a better society.
