Nigeria's most talked-about influencer wedding just took a dramatic military twist!
The Nigerian Army has arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in an unauthorised deployment during the lavish wedding ceremony of content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and fellow TikTok personality Jarvis. Military sources say the arrests followed intelligence indicating the soldiers participated in an illegal deployment at the celebrity wedding held in Lekki, Lagos State.
The soldiers involved have been named as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa of the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, also attached to the 81DMSH in Obalende, Lagos.
So how did the Army find out? It all traces back to videos from the wedding showing uniformed soldiers managing crowds and escorting guests — with one clip in particular igniting massive backlash: a soldier allegedly acting as personal bouncer for TikTok personality Ivanna, escorting her through the crowded venue.
The internet had a field day — and not in a good way. The footage sparked widespread criticism online, with many questioning why serving military personnel were seen performing private security duties at a celebrity event. Amid the backlash, media personality Daddy Freeze publicly appealed for leniency toward the arrested soldiers.
But the Army is standing firm. Officials have consistently maintained that serving soldiers are prohibited from undertaking private security assignments or participating in deployments without official authorisation, and an investigation is now underway to determine whether other personnel were involved.
Meanwhile, the wedding itself keeps making headlines for other reasons too — from the jaw-dropping ₦400 million Abuja mansion gifted by real estate mogul King Ochacho, to unrelated celebrity chatter now trending in the same breath.
