“Nigerians Have Moved On!” — Yesufu Says Tinubu Has Already Lost 2027
Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has stirred political debate after declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already lost the 2027 presidential election.
Yesufu made the statement during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, where she discussed Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
According to her, Tinubu’s current political strategy of courting state governors is an attempt to create the “illusion of power.”
She pointed to the experience of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which once controlled more than 20 state governors but still lost the presidency in the 2015 Nigerian presidential election.
“Yes, Bola Tinubu has already lost,” she said. “That’s why he is looking for governors that he’d put together to have an illusion of power.”
The activist argued that political strength ultimately comes from the people rather than elite political alliances.
Yesufu also praised the growing momentum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), suggesting the party is attracting increased interest and enthusiasm among Nigerians.
“The fact that they don’t have the people is clear,” she added. “You saw it when they were doing the registration; nobody was interested. But you can see with the ADC the kind of passion it has gathered.”
Her comments have since sparked intense reactions online as Nigeria’s political conversations gradually shift toward the 2027 Nigerian presidential election.
