COALITION DEMANDS DSS ARREST SOWORE OVER ALLEGED "THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY" — ACTIVIST'S SUPPORTERS FIRE BACK

Nigeria's political temperature just spiked again — and Omoyele Sowore is once more at the center of it.

A coalition group has publicly demanded that the Department of State Services (DSS) move to arrest and prosecute the activist and former presidential candidate, accusing him of "subversive" conduct and posing a threat to national security. The group didn't mince words, declaring: "We say no to criminality in the name of activism... the time for selective justice is over."

But this isn't Sowore's first brush with such demands — and it's already drawing sharp pushback. Rights groups, including Amnesty International, have repeatedly labeled his past arrests and prosecutions as politically motivated attempts to silence dissent, with the UN previously ruling one of his earlier detentions arbitrary and illegal.

So now Nigerians are split down the middle: Is this coalition genuinely raising a national security alarm, or is it the latest chapter in a long pattern of using the courts to muzzle a government critic?

Whose side are you on — national security concern, or political persecution? Sound off below. 👇
