Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade‑Ekeinde has revealed that her commitment to personal values stopped her from accepting deals that could have made her extremely wealthy.
The award-winning actress made the revelation during an interview on The Afropolitan Show, where she spoke about some of the difficult decisions she has made throughout her career.
According to her, there were several opportunities that promised huge financial rewards but required her to compromise her principles.
“If I wanted to be a billionaire, I would have been it easily because I have been in situations where no one would have known and I would have taken things and compromised my stands,” she said.
Omotola explained that she chose to walk away from such opportunities, stressing that protecting her integrity and values was more important than financial gain.
The actress also noted that some of the individuals involved in those situations may still remember the moments when she declined their offers.
In a previous interview, the Nollywood star also shared an experience where she received a car as a gift while married, adding that her husband had no problem with it.
Omotola, who has remained one of the most respected figures in the Nigerian film industry, said that staying true to herself has brought rewards that cannot be measured by money.
