🔥 El-Rufai Detention Sparks Firestorm: Galadima Dares APC Leaders to “Swear on Quran or Bible”
Political tensions intensified on Thursday after senior New Nigeria People’s Party chieftain Buba Galadima reacted strongly to the detention of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai.
In remarks shared by Channels Television, Galadima accused the Federal Government of selectively targeting opposition figures, alleging that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress have committed worse infractions without facing consequences.
“Which of these people in the APC government can swear by the Quran or the Bible that they haven’t done worse than Malami and El-Rufai did?” Galadima said.
He also referenced former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, claiming that several powerful figures involved in past legislative processes had faced serious corruption accusations, including alleged mismanagement of billions of naira.
Claims of Political Targeting
Galadima argued that the current wave of scrutiny against opposition-linked figures signals a broader political strategy ahead of 2027. He suggested that anti-corruption efforts must be applied evenly across party lines to avoid eroding public trust.
As of press time, there had been no official response from the APC or federal authorities addressing Galadima’s claims.
The controversy adds to an already heated political climate, with debates over accountability, selective prosecution, and power realignment dominating national discourse.
