When the music stopped, the real work began.
Concert for Change, the Nigerian non-profit turning worship nights into life-changing cheques, has disbursed a record N55 million to five frontline charities across the country — each one dedicated to orphans and children living with disabilities.
The funds, raised through the Green Worship 8 Benefit Concert, were shared equally among five organisations: Comrade David Ofoeyeno School for Special Children (Warri), Marvelous Foundation Orphans Care Centre (Minna), Super Parent Foundation (Lagos), Hope Orphanage (Akure), and Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria (Uyo). Each walked away with N11 million — money that will go directly toward therapy, specialised equipment, infrastructure, and educational resources for some of Nigeria's most overlooked children.
What makes this year's milestone even more remarkable is the growth behind it. The N55 million represents a nearly 50% jump from last year's N36.75 million disbursement — a sign that Nigerians are not just watching the problem, they're funding the solution.
Wale Adenuga, Managing Trustee of Concert for Change, put it simply:
"Every year, we are reminded that compassion is still alive. This increase is not just a financial milestone — it is proof that individuals are willing to give sacrificially to support children who might otherwise be forgotten."
Since it launched under the name Worship for Change, the organisation has now raised over N200 million, supported 49 charities, and touched thousands of young lives across Nigeria — one concert, one donor, one child at a time.
